Why The Doctrine "Salvation Requires Continuing Works To Get To Heaven" Is a SERIOUS Heresy

Any teaching that states that a born again believer could lose his/her salvation if they do not continue until the end, is a heresy.

It is a heresy because effectively that person has to depend upon their own works and efforts to retain their salvation, rather than just simply trusting in the Saviour for that prize.

In fact, the reason this blog focuses so much on the evils of ecumenism is because vast areas of the "so called" evangelical/protestant church are embracing and/or joining forces with the work based religion of Rome (Vatican religion).

Apart from ecumenism, there are those (within the evangelical church) who are being misguided, who follow arminianism. Arminianism was an offshoot from Rome (around the time of the reformation) and contains a lot of catholic teaching. No wonder really, because it has (at its essence, like catholic dogma) a dependence on works to maintain salvation.

This article now focuses on why that teaching is heretical.

The teaching of arminianism, is that it is possible for a believer to become saved and then later unsaved if they do not continue in the faith (including works evident of salvation) until the end. I will now show that this is a seriously false teaching and extremely dangerous to the spiritual health of believers and to their relationship with the Lord.

There are those within the Christian community who state that the teaching of eternal security is not a teaching to be divided over, as it is a non vital doctrine, which does not affect our salvation. Is that true? I would beg to differ.

Effectively, if you believe

God HAS Given Us Freewill. It IS Revealed In The Bible.

Note:  Added More Material 14 Sept 2012

The purpose of this article is to refute the "no freewill" arguments of Calvinists (and others who hold to a similar reformed theology) demonstrating that the Bible DOES teach freewill.

I will start by laying a foundation. The Bible teaches us that God is full of Love, Compassion, Mercy, He is Just and Righteous in all His ways. Those who teach that we have no freewill in our salvation and that only those who God chooses through His predetermined plan, will be saved, actually defame God’s character by (effectively) teaching that God in His predetermined plan has created many people deliberately predestining them to an eternal torment of hell. This is actually blasphemy because it teaches something about God's nature which is blatantly untrue!

Romans 8:32 says “He who did not SPARE His own Son”. Therefore, why would He (out of a nature of love) create humans to then send to an eternal hell (without them being capable to choose God)?  Surely that would be the case, if (as they teach) some have no chance of repenting because they are not of the elect. If they are incapable of choosing God because they are DEAD, then EFFECTIVELY God has created souls to be tormented for eternity. How can God be a God of Love and also be Righteous and Just if He did such things? How can you trust a God like that?

No wonder Atheism has taken on in a massive way because “how can you believe in a God like that?” No, I cannot believe in a God like that because that is NOT His nature.

What about 2 Peter 3:9 “it is not God’s Will that any should perish but that ALL should come to repentance”. If we do not have

Calvinist Teachers/Followers (Reformed Theologians) Are They Unsaved?

The purpose of this article is to clarify my standpoint re my last article entitled: “New Calvinism. Explaining And Exposing This Latest Ecumenical and Apostate Movement Which Is Taking The Church By Storm”   Please Click Here  (to read that article).
Calvin: unsaved?
Whitfield: unsaved?
Spurgeon: unsaved?

Piper: unsaved?

It has come to my attention that readers may think I am suggesting that followers of Calvinism cannot be saved because of  Calvinists pagan Catholic/Augustinian influences and its superimposing gnostic teaching TO the Bible (i.e, twisting the scriptures, effectively adding to and taking away from what the Bible says and therefore removing the true and pure simplicity of the Word of God).

I AM  NOT suggesting that a Calvinist is not saved. I will now address the reasons why I believe that (possibly) MOST Calvinists ARE saved!

In dealing with this question, we need to be careful to always remember HOW one is saved.  I do not know of anyone who becomes a Calvinist, Arminian or of any other belief system BEFORE they receive Jesus as their Saviour.  Usually a believer becomes a Calvinist etc AFTER they come to faith (depending upon what Christian group influence them, at that time).

So……  Before we dare state that Calvinists etc are unsaved, we need to remind ourselves on

Significance Of The Scapegoat On Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). Revised

Please note (for the reasons given below) I have had to revise the article
The Significance Of The Scapegoat On Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).
I have now transfered it here (as a new article) and deleted the original article.

The whole section following the heading "An Explanation Before I Continue" is where you will find the difference compared to the original article. Everything (before that section) is exactly as it appeared beforehand. Anyway, this is the revised article.

This  Revised Article
I was asked to explain the significance of the scapegoat and to explain it in a way that youngsters would understand.   In the process of putting my answer together I came across some amazing historical information.

I will first show the answer I gave, then (at the bottom) give you all this amazing historical information from the Jewish Talmud which re-emphasises that Jesus IS the Messiah and completely satisfies God's requirements for our salvation. This was my answer:

Reply To A Rabbi. Why There Can Be No Forgiveness Without Blood Sacrifice

I read an article which was written on a Rabbis website. This article was attempting to prove that Jewish people have never believed that blood ALONE was necessary for God to forgive. He gave examples from the Bible showing that God many times forgave without the sacrifice of animals. His comments were related to Leviticus chapter 17.  (Incidentally, please click on this shortcut link   Why God Required Animal Blood Sacrifice, In The Bible?  which is a full answer to why God DID ALWAYS require blood for forgiveness). I decided to write to the rabbi refuting his arguments.

He surprisingly replied to my email with further comments and questions (not specifically answered within the article I quoted above). I then sent another email replying to his questions. I would like to show the contents of the questions and answers because it illustrates the truth proving how the Jewish people (like all people) can find  eternal forgiveness of sins in no other sacrifice than the one done by Jesus (Yeshua).
This was my email:

Why God Required Animal Blood Sacrifice, In The Bible?

I was asked the following questions:

Why did God forbid the eating of animals, with the blood in them? What does "the life of an animal is in the blood" mean and why did God require animal blood sacrifice?

In researching the answer to these questions, I noticed them being asked many times. I thought you may find it useful to know the answers, so I write this article with the answers. I will also include within the answer the whole implication of animal blood sacrifice and why it was necessary.

God makes it clear throughout Scriptures that it is only by the shedding of blood that sins can be forgiven. So the primary purpose of blood sacrifice is to cover, cleanse and deliver us from sin. This article will now tackle why God holds such importance in the blood, but will first tackle the first question. The title of this article and the above question are BOTH relevant.

To make sense of why blood could not be eaten and why "the life is in the blood" let us firstly read Leviticus 17:10-14:

" 'Any Israelite or any alien living among them who eats any blood—I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from his people.  For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. Therefore I say to the Israelites, "None of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood."   " 'Any Israelite or any alien living among you who hunts any animal or bird that may be eaten must drain out the blood and cover it with earth, because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, "You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off."

First of all, these verses are saying that neither the Israelites nor those who lived with them could eat the blood of animals. It is not saying they could not  eat the flesh of animals, because they were permitted to eat animals, but not the blood. So why could they not eat the blood? They could not eat the blood  because

Why True Believers Are Eternally Secure In Their Salvation

Edited 19 Sep 2012
After this article was written, I found another excellent article (possibly even better) written by the hand of Harry Ironside. Please read this new link first together with the following content. Please click here to read "Eternal Security of the Believer".

Here is an excellent article by Michael J. Penfold of  www.webtruth.org. (See also listed in "my links")  which explains clearly what happens when a person is truly born-again and why scripturally and logically the believer can not lose their salvation.. But it would be good to get things into context first by reading my post entitled What Is Repentance? found within this link   http://watchmanforjesus.blogspot.com/2010/02/what-is-repentance.html  Anyway, this is what Michael Penfold wrote:

Arriving at a clear understanding of the true nature of salvation represents the first step in settling the question of eternal security. The Bible clearly teaches that at the very moment of genuine repentance and saving faith a sinner is:  Converted - turned around (Acts 3:19),       Reconciled - made at peace (2 Cor 5:19),       Sanctified - set apart for God (1 Cor 1:2),       Regenerated - given new life (1 Pet 1:23),     Redeemed - purchased or bought back (1 Pet 1:18),      Adopted - placed in God’s family as a son (Rom 8:15) and        Justified - declared righteous by God (Rom 3:28, 2 Cor 5:21).

Furthermore the repentant sinner is sealed with, indwelt by, baptised in and anointed with the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13, John 14:17, 1 Cor 12:13, 1 John 2:27). He receives eternal life (John 3:36) and because he is now ‘in Christ’, he is

How To Be Truly Saved and Be Certain Of Going To Heaven

Edited 31 Oct 2011 (see edited section in bold below)

I am so happy that you are reading this article. I guess that means that you are either a believer who is curious about what I have to say about the subject or hopefully someone who is serious about getting right with God.

First of all, the reason Jesus came into the world was to rescue humanity from the destination of an eternity separated from its creator. You see, God made humanity perfect at the beginning and designed to live forever in eternal bliss on Earth. However, after the first humans disobeyed God, a separation from God began. Man can only live eternally if in close unity with God.

Because of disobedience (sin) spiritual death occurred and the impact of that was the sudden commencement of a decay in our bodies ie physical death became a reality (the commencement of cells dying within the body). From that time all mankind inherited a sinful (imperfect, self-centred) nature with the tendency to do wrong things because of the sinful nature deep within our souls. This is why everyone is SELF-centred (to a lesser or greater extent) at their very heart.

Adam and Eve were tempted to become like God, to know good from evil. What actually happened after their disobedience is that they only knew evil and NOT good. They became gods sure enough (gods of their own life - self-important and self-centred, ie self on the throne of their lives) becoming fully corrupt having fallen a long way from where they were.

God cannot look on sin, but He loves us so much that He wants to rescue us from the consequences of sin and spiritual death. The penalty or wages for sin is death - we HAVE to die. But God does not want us to die, so Jesus took our place. When Jesus died on the cross, He was punished by God for all our sins. He also took upon Himself all the consequences of our sinful nature and died as a sacrifice for ALL our sins once and for all time. This means that we can (again) have a close intimate relationship with God because the blood of Jesus has cleansed us from sins once and for all. Because we are clean, He can live within us through the Holy Spirit.

However, not everyone can benefit from this "grace" unmerited favour of God without doing anything. There is a condition (as follows)!!!
